New Character – Maona Coffee Table

A table as an architectural statement

Inspired by the Japanese principle of “Ma” – consciously created empty space – this piece of furniture generates tension not through mass, but through balance. Flowing, organic lines meet clear geometry, translating architectural precision into a compact format.

The quiet center of the room

As a coffee table, Maona translates the formal DNA of the dining table series of the same name into a concentrated, smaller, almost intimate format and condenses it into a compact gesture; architecturally clear and at the same time surprisingly fluid.

Here, too, the Japanese principle of “Ma” characterizes the design. The precise gap between the curved steel sides remains a central element: it structures the volume, guides light through the construction, and lends the compact body a noticeable lightness. The amorphous tabletop is new. Its organically flowing contour eludes clear geometry, without axis, without beginning, without end. This creates a field of tension between structural clarity and soft openness: structure and movement in dialogue.

Space and movement

In Maona, steel and solid wood do not appear as heavy, static bodies, but as a deliberately composed unit. Materials that traditionally stand for solidity are freed from their heaviness and gain a new, surprisingly light identity. Their expression changes with every perspective: the frame appears graphically clear and at the same time in motion, the top soft, flowing, organic. This creates a calm, natural dynamic. The idea behind the series is condensed on the smaller scale of the coffee table. The construction remains precise, the silhouette becomes freer, almost mobile in space.
