New Character – Maona Coffee Table

A table as an architectural statement

Inspired by the Japanese principle of “Ma” – consciously created empty space – this piece of furniture generates tension not through mass, but through balance. Flowing, organic lines meet clear geometry, translating architectural precision into a compact format.

Solid wood meets steel, mass meets lightness. Maona bridges the gap between sculpture and object. The tables express a lively balance between tension and calm, movement and pause. Lines open up, find distance, and meet again.

The quiet center of the room

As a coffee table, Maona translates the formal DNA of the dining table series of the same name into a concentrated, smaller, almost intimate format and condenses it into a compact gesture; architecturally clear and at the same time surprisingly fluid.

Here, too, the Japanese principle of “Ma” characterizes the design. The precise gap between the curved steel sides remains a central element: it structures the volume, guides light through the construction, and lends the compact body a noticeable lightness. The amorphous tabletop is new. Its organically flowing contour eludes clear geometry, without axis, without beginning, without end. This creates a field of tension between structural clarity and soft openness: structure and movement in dialogue.

Space and movement

In Maona, steel and solid wood do not appear as heavy, static bodies, but as a deliberately composed unit. Materials that traditionally stand for solidity are freed from their heaviness and gain a new, surprisingly light identity. Their expression changes with every perspective: the frame appears graphically clear and at the same time in motion, the top soft, flowing, organic. This creates a calm, natural dynamic. The idea behind the series is condensed on the smaller scale of the coffee table. The construction remains precise, the silhouette becomes freer, almost mobile in space.

The Maona coffee table can be configured as desired. The organic solid wood top features the distinctive Swiss edge and is available in five solid wood types: from natural or white oiled oak to deeply brushed “black oak,” mineral-looking “meteor oak,” and elegant American walnut. The frame is available in two powder-coated versions: Indian brown and Black onyx.

Organic form in a functional context

The Maona insert table adds a compact, functional element for the living area to the table series. Designed as a slim stand-alone piece, it fits precisely between two sofa elements and adds additional storage space to any ensemble.

In terms of form, the insert table ties in directly with the Maona coffee tables. The amorphous tabletop takes on their softly flowing contours. It has no rigid geometry, but instead develops a free, organic silhouette. Gently rounded edges reinforce this impression and give the form a closed and calm appearance.

Made of 20 mm solid wood, the pull-out table remains true to the material-conscious approach of the series. Like all tables in the Maona series, the pull-out table is also available in the collection's characteristic solid wood finishes. The carefully coordinated material palette echoes the surfaces of the dining and coffee tables and ensures consistent design continuity within the series.

Organically integrated

A coffee table that makes an architectural statement. Organic, flowing lines meet geometric rigor and find their balance in a compact, harmonious form that changes subtly depending on the perspective. Made from European solid wood, Maona expresses the warmth, depth, and authenticity of the natural material in a special way.
